Single parents are some of my biggest heroes.  When I served in Student Ministry I met a single mom hero.  Debra was attending nursing school, raising 3 kids (2 boys and 1 daughter), and coming to our church 2-3x a week.  To top it off, Debra's youngest dautghter was battling leukemia.  Despite, all these circumstances, this Super Mom drove other kids to church each week along with her own children.  Debra drove an old station wagon.  Often while she was in choir practice and her tribe of kids were in our teen program, a few men from our church would be under the hood of her car getting it started again so she could make it home. 

Single parenting is super hard.  I see single Mom's and Dad's as modern day widows and widowers.  Please spare the emails about theological arguments and interpretations.  In the time it will take you to type me an email, you could have lived out James 1:22.
